Module 4.2 Team Assignment

Module 4.2 Team Assignment

Q Evaluate It's time to receive feedback from your team members about your strengths and limitations as a member of your group. Hopefully you did not wait to participate in team projects! Prioritizing team assignments and participating three or more days per week on those projects will help you with your individual assignments. In Modules 2 and 3, you completed Team Assignments that culminated in VoiceThread presentations. Everyone on your team will be receiving the identical grade for those assignments. Now we want you take a step back to both self-evaluate your contributions to those Team Assignments as well as peer review your teammates contributions. Based on this information, your instructor will then award an individual Team Assignment Participation grade. This assignment has multiple purposes relating to the themes of Modules 3 and 4. 1. Practice self-reflection and self-assessment (of your Team Assignment contributions) 2. See how your perceptions of your contributions align with your teammates' perceptions (do you have a biased perception?) 3. Provide practice in delivering peer assessment. 4. Recognize potential varying levels of individual Team Assignment contributions. Here's what to do: Step 1: Download and complete the Team Assignment Participation self-assessment form Regarding your individual Team Assignment contributions. Note that both your teammates and your instructor will be viewing this information. Step 2: Submit the self-assessment form to the assignment forum below You will not be able to complete assessments for your teammates until you submit your self-assessment. Your self-assessment must be submitted no later than Thursday, 11:59 PM ET. Late or incomplete self-assessments will result in a Team Assignment Participation grade that is reduced by one grading level across all criteria. Not submitting a self-assessment will result in a zero. Step 3: Watch this video about how the Canvas peer review process works As your peer reviews will be anonymous, you will be simply completing the rubric and leaving overall comments. The documentation annotation step discussed in the video will not apply. Step 4: Look for your assigned peer reviews in this assignment window You should be assigned a peer review for each of your teammates. Notify your instructor if this is not the case. Step 5: Complete an anonymous peer review for each of your teammates Complete the rubric and then leave some overall comments including to what degree your assessment aligns with your teammates's self assessment. • It is important to give both positive and critical feedback, framing both professionally. • Your peer feedback is anonymous to team members, but your instructor can see the feedback you have given. o In M6, after we've reviewed principles of giving and receiving effective feedback, we will shift to non-anonymous peer review of each other's multimedia presentations. Your Peer Reviews are due no later than Sunday, 11:59 PM ET. Late or incomplete self-assessments will result in a Team Assignment Participation grade that is reduced by one grading level across all criteria. Step 6: Review your peer feedback (referencing Step 2 video as needed) Remember the point of this assignment is not merely to award an individual Team Assignment participation grade but to challenge our self-perceptions and potential biases. Step 7: Your instructor will award your individual Team Assignment participation grade Based on the input from your self-assessment as well as your teammates' assessments. Your instructor Outcomes This activity assesses the following module outcomes: o M4-09: Provide informative feedback to peers to improve future collaborative participation efforts.
